Beste allemaal,
Zojuist vlak voor het slapen gaan begon ik aan het reviseren van een 222 platenspeler, de zwart met aluminium opvolger van de 212 en 312. Mijn exemplaar moest een nieuwe netschakelaar en een nieuwe snaar. Schakelaar gescoord via Conrad, beetje aan de aluminium beugel zitten McGyveren en het past en werkt perfect. Snaar had ik ook op voorraad, die er omheen gelegd, apparaat aan en.... Fwop! Fwop! Fwop! Lekker dan; allemaal rubberzooi aan de zijkant van het vliegwiel zet zich vast aan de nieuwe snaar die daardoor in één klap verpest is. Shit! Gelukkig is er een oplossing.
Remi adviseerde voor het verwijderen van rubberzooi CIF, en heeft dit zelf ook uitgebreid in actie laten zien bij zijn 4450 project. Ik heb dus het hele vliegwiel uit het loopwerk geschroefd (drie schroefjes, woei!) en er met een schuurspons met CIF bovenop gedoken. Werkelijk, de troep verdwijnt als sneeuw voor de zon! Werkelijk een fantastische oplossing. Ook de nieuwe (nog stevige) snaar een flinke behandeling gegeven, en het draait nu als een zonnetje. Eigenlijk best een mooie spelert die 222, foto's volgen!

The above is a description of removing the residue of a rubber turntable belt for the 212 and other record players. In the 70's, Philips used a type of rubber that unfortunately after 20 to 30 years completely starts to melt and looks like black chewing gum or worse, looks like sticky oil. Removing this is a terrible job but it's important to get rid of the stuff before placing new belts on the machine.
Do you have any specific problems in which we may be able to assist? Please feel free to ask your questions.

Well in fact i have the same problem to remove this greasy melt rubber, what did you use ?
Also i dint know why but on my ga212 the 45 speed doesnt work.

A degreasing agent for use in the kitchen might work, our favorite brand is Dasty, but i don't think it's available where you live (france?)
