Hoi. Welkom en bedankt dat je je als nieuwkomer even hebt voorgesteld. ;)

Ik meen dat forumlid Karsten en/of Albert900 zo'n tuner had staan. Misschien kun je hen een bericht sturen.

Hello, last week I bought a amplifier 22AH594 + tuner 22AH694. With my speakers 22RH456 great music. My main question is about tuner. Everything sounds good, but TUNING and PRESENT does not move - ever. Can somebody help me ? (When switched off, I measured with a multimeter - not glued.)

Second question is about amplifier. When I switch on/off, there is a "shoot,boom..." to speakers. It's loud and uncomfortable.
Is it because of old power switch or is it a construction? Is it default "feature" of this amplifier ?

Thanks for any advice

EDIT : I found scheme. Can I try set green zone ? (3104, 3103, 3143)

Your meter problem is more common and it is a mechanical issue. If you would take these meters out of the tuner housing you will find a very tiny screw under the sealing tape on the back of the meter.
With a bit of luck you can turn it a hair counter clockwise to free the needle. It is actualy the bearing that is adjusted hereby.

The screw wil be sealed with a adhesive and it might not want to turn or you might damage the screwdrivers slot.
In that case not all is lost, you can open the case and carefully bent open the metal bridge. (bent is a bit strong here, you have to be gentle)
As soon as the needle can move it's ok, do not go further or the axle will fall out of the bearing.

Don't know about the noise when you turn it on, i remember that i had the same experience with apparatus from the same time period, it shall not be normal but can't tell you what's wrong at this point, someone else maybe?

succes!

About the 594, it is one of the last "old school" Philips amplifiers and has no speaker-relays. Because of that there is always some sound through the speakers when you turn it on. Whether that sound is louder than usual is unfortunately hard to tell through a forum.

What you hear is the charging of the output capacitor, its normal that it gives a boink sound by switching it on.
